Barcombe Nurseries - Home Compostable Salad Bags

Barcombe Nurseries is a farm based in the Suffolk countryside providing customisable seasonal organic veg boxes, with majority zero-emissions and plastic-free packaging. They have been completely plastic free since 2019 and keep all packaging to a minimum, choosing either reusable, returnable or home compostable materials as appropriate. For items that need to be kept fresh, such as salad, Barcombe use our TIPA sideweld bags with perforations to keep the produce fresh and wickets for ease of dispensing.

TIPA is a compostable film certified for Home Composting and Industrial Composting by awarding body TUV Austria and complies with the composting standard regulation EN13432. If composted correctly the packaging will become fertiliser within just 6 months. The film is made up of several bio-based polymers including Corn, Sugar Cane and Wood Pulp and is certified GMO Free.
